What a time for a divorce!

I guess I couldn't pick a worse time of the year...cold and the holidays. Even though I think this is the right thing to do, it still really stinks. My daughter is 2 and I hate the thought of her not having both parents...hate the thought of holidays without her (all that shared parenting!) and to top if off, my mother (who is divorced) keeps telling me I'm making a horrible mistake. I don't think that I am, but I do know it will be tough some times. I guess we'll see how tough....DH and I are sitting down Thursday night to see if we can come to an agreement without getting lawyers involved. I'm hopeful but I'm asking for a lot of Child support so I can finish grad school without going back to work. Now I'm starting to feel "lonely" and I haven't even left yet! Anyway, just needed to vent. Thanks for "listening"

I know what you mean. I told my ex that I wanted a divorce after finding out about his affair on Dec. 15th of last year. He stayed here through xmas as we didn't tell anyone until after the holidays. He moved out on the 26th of Dec. This time of year sucks. I'm sorry. I don't have any advice, but I know how you feel and I'm sending you and your daughter ((((hugs)))).

Hi there, I have a 1.9 month daughter and my husband has just told me he is planning to get a divorce on January "after the holidays". I'm sad, mad and trying to gain the momentum to survive it all. My daughter smile is my guiding light. (((()))))

I just found out about my husband's affair last month. Our daughter was only 2 weeks old at the time. And our son is 3. With the holidays approaching it's been really tough. My husband is currently living with this woman but keeps wanting to come "home" every other week to play house and be with his kids. Talk about an emotional rollercoaster as if this time of year isn't stressful enough. I totally emphasize with you and wish you the best of luck.

Ugh. That sounds horrible! If it's any consolation, I have just found out that the other woman is a friend, well ex-friend. :(
