That's a hard one considering I've just gone through some major changes in my life with a cross country move! I don't want to really change much now, but I hope my kids continue to be happy in our new community and home.

1. Are your parents divorced?
my mother and father were married for about 30 years, and my mother died at age 53. my father remarried a year later to a widow with young kids, that lasted a few years and he got divorced (it was one of those marriages that you just KNEW wouldn't last). then he got married again a few years later to a divorcee and they are still together.
2. When were your divorce papers filed, or when will they be filed?
i am divorced for 2 years, separated/started the process a year before that
3. Do you have any siblings? Have any gone through divorces?
none of my siblings have gotten divorced.
4. Are you happy right now at this moment?
yes!! i love my life, i love my 'self'
5. If you could change one thing in your life, big or small, what would it be?
its funny, i once said to DS (20 YO) that i am not sorry about any thing i did in my life, mistakes and all, but i AM sorry that i married my second husband (not DS's father), because it was so painful for both of us. and DS said to me - you wouldn't be the person you are today if you hadn't gone thru what you went thru in that marriage. so ----- I woulnd't undo anything, i guess. the only thing i would like would be to be thinner...
1. Are your parents divorced? Yes, they divorced back in the sixties when I was five. My Mom then went on to get married two more times - one marriage was annulled after about six months and the other ended in divorce after 12 very bumpy years. My Dad has been re-married for over 25 years - and it seems to be a very healthy and happy marriage.
2. When were your divorce papers filed, or when will they be filed? Can't recall when my ex filed them, but divorce was final Dec 3rd, 2003.
3. Do you have any siblings? Have any gone through divorces? Yes, I have three siblings. None have gone through a divorce - one has never been married.
4. Are you happy right now at this moment? Not really, but I'm working on it. I am going to be getting my ds evaluated for autism next month. Between dealing with him, dealing with a stressful job and working on myself, I am pretty stressed out right now.
I just quit my job - I didn't want to get fired and that was looming on the horizon. Having to deal with my son with hardly any support or help at all had a huge impact on my ability to do my job well. I figured for now, my son needs me more - but it is a bit creepy to have quit my job! Meanwhile, my ex has moved into a very nice house, is getting married next month and has recently told me that I cannot even step foot in his neighborhood. I haven't been acting badly or anything, so I do not know why he has asked for this - but he did so, in front of our ds, which made him cry. Why is he being so cruel??? I wish I knew.
5. If you could change one thing in your life, big or small, what would it be? Sometimes I wish I'd never married my ex - but I did learn a lot from the experience. I am NEVER going to let anyone treat me like that again! Now I know that if someone is verbally abusive to me, they are likely to continue being that way. Next time that happens, I'll leave. When it happened with my ex, I was engaged at that point and too embarrassed to call off the wedding. I learned some very valuable lessons and *most* of the time I am grateful for that.
If I could change one thing, it would be the fact that my ex looked at child pornography or that I didn't turn him in before he destroyed the evidence. Living with the worry about why he was doing that and if he'll do it again or harm any children (especially our son!) is pretty much a living hell. I have not figured out how to let go of my worry and it is there almost all the time - I am not going to stop seeing my therapist until I have that all laid to rest.
I worry that my ex's fiancee is going to get hurt. My family thinks I am nuts for being concerned about her welfare - but honestly, I wouldn't wish what happened in my marriage on anyone. And this weekend, with that weirdo being arrested in the JonBenet case, what my ex did really comes back to me full force. Even if the guy didn't do it, he still appears to be a very sick individual. I know I should probably stop listening to the news, but it's like watching a train wreck!
Sorry this got so long....I have a lot on my mind these days....
1. Are your parents divorced?
Yes, my parents divorced after nearly 20 years of marriage. In all honesty, they probably stayed married too long.
2. When were your divorce papers filed, or when will they be filed?
I filed 12/8/05
3. Do you have any siblings? Have any gone through divorces?
I have 1 brother; he separated from his wife for a short period of time (2 months maybe), but they've remained married 6 years past reconciliation and seem to be doing better than they were pre-separation.
4. Are you happy right now at this moment?
Blissfully so. . .
5. If you could change one thing in your life, big or small, what would it be?
The divorce would be final (our final hearing is scheduled for 8/31) and ex would pull his head outta his butt and not fight me on the sale of our house (I've found a 4 bd, 1.5 bath house literally 2 houses down the street from mine and have a bid on it that has been accepted.)
1. Are your parents divorced? Nope! Married for 47 years. I can't decide if they're still married out of habit or love!
2. When were your divorce papers filed, or when will they be filed? Papers were filed in October 2002 and the divorce was final on December 31, 2202. Happy New Year, Calla!!
3. Do you have any siblings? Have any gone through divorces? No siblings, ergo, no divorces! But my best friend from childhood (like a brother) was divorced years ago and is happily remarried.
4. Are you happy right now at this moment? I'm so happy, I'm almost ecstatic!
5. If you could change one thing in your life, big or small, what would it be? I'm not sure if I would have married XH, though I DID get two wonderful girls out of the whole deal.

1. Are your parents divorced?
Yes they are... they got divorced during my first year of marriage after 29 years... even though I knew it was coming, it really affected me in ways that I did not expect, especially as an adult...
2. When were your divorce papers filed, or when will they be filed?
Let's see... they were signed the Friday before Valentine's Day in 2004... I remember because I had to travel for business that night and all of these people were on the plane all excited because they were flying to see their sig. others and asked me if I was flying to see mine.... um no... just signed my divorce papers and couldn't be happier about it... divorce was final April 2004...
3. Do you have any siblings? Have any gone through divorces?
No, no siblings here...
4. Are you happy right now at this moment?
I'm tired... but otherwise pretty happy... things seem to be falling into place in a lot of ways (finally)... Joey is doing pretty well in school... I have my new job and am enjoying the challenges being presented to me... things are pretty good for the first time in a long time... so yeah, things are good...
5. If you could change one thing in your life, big or small, what would it be?
I know I cannot change it, but if I could change anything, I would have my xh be more involved in Joey's life... he didn't even call this week and it was Joey's first week of real school...
