Hi Redraspberrie, no you're not over reacting.

'Our wedding consisted of his parents only, so maybe the fact that we didn't invite guests or have a reception plays a part.'

Your husband has kept you separate and away from his friends and family. You need to find out why and what he is afraid of. This is not normal.

I don't know why his invites don't say 'John and Guest' That is customary. And when he runs into friends, doesn't he say 'I got married?'

Does he wear a wedding ring?

No you are not overreacting. What strange behavior from an entire family. Have you ever thought to sit down with one of the family members and ask about why they treat you this way?

Welcome to the board redraspberrie,

I have the same questions as everyone else.... espeically 'have you talked to his parents about the behavior and/or tried to build a relationship with them?'

I would agree.
