Give him some time to sort through is feelings. Don't push or hound him.... he's probably not feeling so great either.

Sunshine, I know you're in shock now....but do you really want a relationship with someone who sulks?

Well, if he really wants to make this into a dealbreaker and he thinks that side of you is not something he can handle, then yes he probably should leave the relationship if he's not happy. This one incident is pretty trivial to completely break up over, but on the other hand he has his own requirements for a relationship that he's entitled to.

Also, yes, maybe it's better not to be with someone who sulks for so long and is willing to ruin plans in favor of continuing to be moody. It would be weird to not be able to move past this but if he's sensitive enough about it then who's to say he's wrong, I guess.

Give *yourself* closure by recognizing that you don't want to be with a man who is so selfish, he can't even put his moodiness aside for a few hours to make you happy on your birthday!

Yikes!!!
