Can't have sex without KY

KY is wonderful. But why am I dependent on it for over 2 years with my guy? It hurts without it, but I have no medical issues. Is my body telling me anything? This is getting annoying. Any thoughts welcome.

Some women just don't naturally lubricate as much as others... or enough to keep sex from being difficult. Foreplay is a godsend for this kind of stuff, but if there's no medical problem, KY will have to continue to be your best friend.

Welcome to the board tweetie272,

Depending on your age, it could be hormones, your body no longer producing enough lube on it's own (not necessarily a health/medical issue) as some women just naturally produce less (we are all different), lack of foreplay, or your mental mindset even. Oh, or if you are on certain meds, that can effect it also.

I would disagree that this is prefectly normal. In fact, vaginal infections can sometimes be to blame for dryness. I'd ask my doctor at the nect PAP examine to check into it.

It can also be caused by hormonal changes - as was the case for me and the reason I only got it during certain times in my cycle. I recall dietary changes I was able to make to increase fluids. I can't remember them now bc DH just gives me oral during that time of the month so I don't need to worry about it anymore. But you could probably find some research online.

Good luck,

Dee
