if a guy offers to take you out to dinner for a favor you did for him and says "we'll have to schedule a time" for this dinner and doesn't act on it, does that mean he wasn't genuine in his offer? i've told him my schedule was open and would wait for an opening in his schedule. it's been a little more than a week since his offer. he's really busy with work including a new start-up business of his own. but i also found out from another friend that he has been hanging out with his on and off ex-GF. i met this guy about six months ago and we've become casual friends. i've started to like this guy as i got to know him better and i think he knows i like him. i've tried to drop subtle hints that i like him. was he just offering just to be nice? what should i do? he's has told me that he is the passive type. should i just write it off as just a nice saying?

If he wanted a date with you he would make plans, not be passive after you have dropped obvious hints and already agreed to dinner.

Set your sights on someone who isn't 'hanging out' with his ex.
