Welcome to the board taligr,

You have to be willing to tell the truth, not confront him, but just tell the truth.

I understand that you love him and that you don't want it to be over. But you are the role model for your children. What are you teaching them by what they observe?

You can't change him. You can only change you.

Well some good news from me, I took Carries advice and was totally truthful with him, and he broke down and just admitted that he was embarassed by needing BP meds and that he did still have alot of pain from the 3 surgeries. So we discused all of our options, and he said that he was sorry, that he just wanted to see if he could be normal(?) with out the BP meds. I can understand that, but he found out that he cant. So as of last night he is back taking both BP meds (huge sigh of relief), and told me that as long as we can find other ways to take care of the pain(yoga, breathing, non narcotic pain meds, etc.), that he will not go back on Vicodin! WOW, thank God! And the best part is that his *king of the world* attitude is suppressed for now.

Wanted to let you all know that there is light at the end of the tunnel!
