DOES HE REALLY CARE

MY BOYFRIEND IS IN A PROGRAM, BECAUSE HE DRINKS, AND HE CAM TO SEE ME ON MOTHERS DAY, AND HE DRANK WHILE HE WAS OUT, AND HAD TO SSTART THE PROGRAM ALL OVER AGAIN. I KNOW HE NEEDS TO BE IN THERE TO BE SOBER AND GET HELP, THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. MEANWHILE, I JUST KEEP WAITING FOR HIM, HE CLAIMS HE IS DEPRESSED THAT WHAT HE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH, AND THEY GAVE HIM MEDICINE, AND I TOLD HIME IF HE DIDN'T LIKE THAT TO TALK TO HIS THERAPIST. HE SAYS HE LOVES ME, AND I FEEL BAD WE'RE SEPARATED, AND I MISS HIM TERRIBLY AND I AM DEPRESSED CONSTANTLY, OVER HIM. HELP!

Hi there,
If you know that you want to wait for him, then just keep that in the back of your head, and work on you. If you focus all your energies on him and wondering about him, then you'll just drag yourself down too. I know that is easier to say then to do, and I often have to remind myself of that as well. :)
There is another board on iVillage where I have posted a lot of ways to keep your mind clear. Check out the folders on that board. Some of the folders have a lot more to them, so make sure to press the "more" button, especially under the Every Day Tips folder.

Also, while focusing on yourself, just spend more time with friends and family. Get out of the house. Go to the gym, do things for you. Maybe join a book club, sign up for a class, volunteer. Anything to keep your mind busy.
