My girl friend is going through something i dont understand and probably never will.

I love her dearly and she loves me the same. I think she is going through the change of life and i dont no how to cope with it. She has never got any energy, cannot get to sleep, moody, has lost her sex drive (we havent been intimate for 2 months), she gets very down and worried all the time she is putting weight on when she is skinny. I compliment her every day on how beautiful she is, and I do most of the house work, cook, drive the kids every where, I take her out all the time, buy her flowers once a week, give her lots of hugs, but I get very frustrated and i have told her my feelings about our sex life and she says it makes her feel worst. Me being a typical heavy handed male in emotional situations i have probably hurt her feelings with out knowing it. What can i do to cope with this delicate situation.

Well, it is hard to say if she is starting menopause or not, as you didn't mention her age, which would be a good indicator. Either way, it sounds like she is depressed.

first of all - you sound like a really great guy! not a "heavy handed male" lol

why do you think she is going thru menopause? everything yo u describe COULD be menopause (BTDT...) and then , could be other stuff. its one thing to have a decrease in sex drive (I woulnd't say that you actually LOSE It), but its another thing not to be intimate. being sexual and intimate is more than *just* sex.

would she agree to go to counseling with you?
