Hi Beachbaby, perhaps my brain isn't working so well at present, but I'm having trouble understanding the situation.

Do you live in a common law state? You may have rights as a common law wife. I would get a consult with an attorney to at least educate yourself of your rights. Most likely you can get him for alimony if he persues a break up, since you gave up your career to be a stay at home parent. You may also be able to be added to his insurance as a domestic partner. Its important to not make any decisions until you know what you're entitled to legally.
