My boyfriend's best friend just died tragically and he's gone into a really deep depression. At first he wanted me to always be there with him but after he went to the funeral he totally closed himself off from me. Then, out of the blue, he told me that his friend's death really affected him and he needed to spend some time alone. Now I feel like everything's different and anytime I've tried to hang out with him (this has been over a week) he's always busy. Any advice?

My advice is to give him some space and let him know you are there for him. This kind of thing is kind of difficult to say, you don't want to pressure him, but you don't want to go on like this indefinitely. Just have some patience. If in a few weeks there is no change, he might need to talk more seriously, he might need to talk to someone so he can move on, he might be going through some depression and not sure where he is going in his life.

Welcome to the board fifitop,

Everyone handles grief differently. It's going to take him over a week to recover from his friend's death.
