He's saying stupid stuff, again!!!!

Hi Doc. I need some advice on how to avoid/minimize silly arguments between myself and my boyfriend. It seems like we can have a great day for the first 15 hours and then doggonit, we will be arguing about something stupid at the 16th hour. I feel he picks fights by saying stupid stuff (sometimes - many times, i'll ask a question and he'll respond with a question and then demand that i answer his question first... see, stupid stuff?...) Or, he'll start to tell me something and then just stop without finishing so when i ask him to finish he'll play dumb and start asking me out of the way stuff. I used to let both of these types of stuff go, but it started bothering me so much that i started calling him on it. So, what is your advice? Should I just ignore him when he says stupid stuff? Should i just play the 2nd grade game and answer his question first and just let him ignore mine? I don't want to go crazy and feel that my thoughts, questions, and ideas are being ignored or put aside but I also don't want to continue to have these stupid little arguments about something that you don't even remember what you were arguing about in the first place. And now he's at the point where he says (a) i'm damned if i do (say something) and damned if i don't--> cuz it'll lead to me having a problem with something he said or (b) you're going to believe what you want to believe anyway so it doesn't matter what my answer is. So, what has your experience/advice been in the past regarding issues like these??? Thanks in advance, Kelli

I'm wondering what type of questions you are asking which have him answering in this manner. Could you give some examples of the how the conversations go? I'm particularly interested in what type of questions you are asking and what he asks you in return.
Also, if you're arguing on a daily basis, why are you still with him?
Welcome to the board,
How long have the two of you been together?
I guess you could just start playing the same games with him that he is playing with you and see how he likes that. Even though playing games isn't really the thing to do. Maybe it would get
