Welcome to the board jrt_luvr,

Would your husband be willing to go to your counselor with you and discuss this issue? Would he be willing to go to some parenting classes?

I'm sorry to read about your situation, but more for your stepson. Between his grandmother and father they've done a sorry job with him. "They" say that stepparents can't discipline, etc. that it has to be the bio parent unless the step has been around since practically babyhood. That's where your husband has failed his child. No support and follow through. How does he expect this kid to have a successful life without consequences and healthy structure? What are his grades like?
He's almost an adult and almost out of the house. This kid needs some help. He needs some tough love. He needs some therapy. He needs someone to reach out to him and make him believe in himself. That's really sad that he hasn't had the foundation we all deserve.

Why are you the only one working?
