How do you regain trust?

Is it possible to regain trust in relationships once it has been violated? My boyfriend didn't cheat on me, but he did have an inappropriate relationship with someone he works with. I forgave him, and he agreed to end the relationship. I really wanted the relationship to work, and I felt he did too. I think he knew it was wrong and he was truly sorry. Nine months later I am still struggling with trust issues, even though there have been no other incidents. For instance, every time he goes out to the bar I worry he is going to meet someone and start up a relationship.

My boyfriend may soon be traveling for work, and he will be gone a lot. He is a musician, and he is constantly immersed in party type situations. I don't know if I will be able to maintain my sanity while he is gone.

Is there something I can do to regain trust or should I move on and save my sanity?

Trust most certainly can be restored and that should begin with him. Its good that it wasnt a serious mistake for him. I will look at this as an affair he had so i can properly explain thru my experience. One who cheats owes the spouse, or partner, whichevere you prefer. By saying that, i mean he should make it up to you, prove his trust. Such things like take you out more, or on the road once in awhile when he plays and add some more romance to your life. If he can do the things you feel you are missing from him, u can forget, broken trust is the most damaging to any relationship and forgiveness is the best healer, but forgeting, is the toughest.. Good Luck
