Hello,

Sorry about your father. I bet the tattoo is beautiful.

You husband is NOT your father. You are an adult and its your body and you are allowed to do what EVER you want with it. Its just not up for discussion. He will eventually get over it....he has no other choice. Your dh will not leave you over a tattoo and if he does, its not about the tattoo.

Let him cool off.

Keep us posted!

Welcome to the board brookski,

While I agree his reaction is over-the-top - has he specifically told you why he's angry?

I don't agree that you should have consulted him, though perhaps he feels that way. If he's really against tattoos it's understandable that maybe this isn't attractive to him personally - though your tattoo sounds to me as though it's tasteful and discreet.

Regardless, it's your body and you have a right to get a tattoo if you want even if you don't ask him first. I don't know how to make your husband stop being mad at you, but his treatment is unfair. I bet he will cool down after a while on his own... I hope.

I can understand his feelings about the situation but I can also understand your feelings about the situation.

I'm thinking wait for a while for him to cool off and then go talk to your husband.

You said it much better than I did. I completely agree with this.
