Husband refuses to compromise

My husband sleeps on the couch every night, falling asleep to the t.v.! We have three kids, one of them is always up at some point during the night. I am a very light sleeper, and have trouble falling asleep after I take care of the kids. I have been asking my husband for months to please make an effort to sleep upstairs so I could nudge him to take a turn with the kids. I have told him it is important to me, to our relationship, and to our family. I really feel he is acting like a roommate, not a husband. I am so confused as I asked him to come up with some ideas to compromise. He simply says he is content on the couch. Note: this is not impacting our sex life.
Any ideas, am I unreasonable to ask that he sleep upstairs sometimes? I am so frustrated that my husband of 11 years takes no responsiblity over something I have repeatedly told him is important to me.
