My boyfriend and i have been together for 2 and a hlf years. he has lied to me in the past and at times i have a hard time trusting that he is always telling me the truth. So i have looked thru his cell phone...which he found out. Then (months later) i was looking thru a box of his receipts and found him in another white lie. i confronted him about it and made up a story of how i found out...he felt bad. Until he figured out i had snooped in his stuff and found the receipt. I had forgiven him for the lie but now he can't seem to forgive me for this....is this so reprehensible and unforgivable? He says he has never loked thru anything of my things, but i have never given him any reason to doubt me. He is so angry he said it's over. we both messed up....how do i make this better, or should i not bother. please help....any advice or comments would be helpful at this point. Do i call or leave him be for now?

He lied and when he found out you knew about it, he put it on you - blamed you for snooping....which means he'll continue to lie as long as he thinks he can get away with it.

My best to you, sorry you have to go through this. I hope someone else has some good advice for you.

ok so he "lies" (as a way of life), and instead of 'fessing up and making amends - he is putting the responsibility on YOU because YOU snooped (and you lied too.)

does this sound like a basis to a healthy relationship? i think not.
