Just let him stew on this for a while. He is probably embarrassed by his behavior and need some time to work through it.

Can I suggest that next time you get ice cream in a container and wait until you get home for your little man to eat it?? This whole thing wreaks of lack of thought on it and I know that his car is just "stuff" BUT its only been a month living with a 3 year old and he needs time to adjust.

Just give him his space and it will all be great!!
