I'm upset. Is it justified?

My boyfriend has been traveling a lot for school (military) and he will likely be deployed early next year. We're serious and talking about getting engaged before he goes. So, he came back home a week ago for 2 weeks

Yes, of course, it's natural to feel hurt and upset, anyone would. It's hard to have to deal with separation from a loved one, and naturally you want to spend as much time as possible together. It's odd that he scheduled time with a buddy friend. Sometimes before people leave they withdraw a bit emotionally so that it won't be so painful to actually be apart. I don't know why he did it, but I do know that you have a right to feel anyway you feel.
This is not an easy time up ahead for you. Let him know that you need him to stay in touch and be close as much as he can.
All good wishes,
