I found some objectionable sites (in my opinion) on our internet browser history.

Welcome to the board photomommee,

A site or page isn't going to show up on the browser history unless you visited that site. I don't know about the youtube pop-ups because I never go on youtube. It is possible that you type something into the search engine that is appropriate but something not appropriate shows up. However, again this isn't going to show on your history unless you actually clicked on the site to visit it.

Welcome to the board photomommee,

1. Is it possible for the browser history to have a
record of pages not specifically clicked on within
youtube?

It's not *normally* possible for a browser to save search fields that were not deliberately typed in by the user

Browser history will usually save any links clicked on

"Assuming the browser history has not been altered
in any way, is there any chance of discrepancy between
what a user has actually looked at versus what the
browser tracks?"
Not really... It would be a stretch.

Your husband is lying to you. If he were smart enough to do anything with altering how a browser functions, then he would know enough to delete his browsing history/cached sites.

If you have an otherwise wonderful relationship though, maybe it's best to let a couple of indiscretions go.
