I'm really sorry about everything, I wish I had more to say but my sentiments have been echoed in previous posts. It's really good to hear that you are willing to take the steps necessary to do the best thing for yourself, and it looks like your assumption about his personality was right. I definitely see a narcissistic in him, and personality disorders are extremely serious. People who identify with being a narcissist or sociopath are not suited for upholding a serious or healthy relationship unless they learn how to manage their disorders. That is something that will take him a long time. Good luck with everything, I hope that a therapist is able to help you.
