I live in an area where I know everyone that I would want to socialize with. I am very attractive and have found myself single for the past year.

Internet dating is not as bad as you think. The biggest downside to it is that really, you can often go through a whoooooole lot of losers before you find a diamond you're looking for - no matter how attractive or interesting you are. I think the most attractive/interesting/intelligent women have to weed out the most "hey sexi ur so hot wana cum ova 4 a gud tym?" morons in order to find someone good. But the good side of this is that people are VERY easy to weed out. All you need to do is block or ignore them.

OKCupid is a pretty good dating site that tends to find more intelligent people than places like match.com or other sites. eHarmony is okay but they are very selective and I've known people to be rejected because of their religious views, race, or sexual preference. Not something that appeals to me personally.

Why not give the internet a try?

Welcome to the board rke32005,

From what you have posted, I don't think your standards are too high. You could try speed dating if that is available in your area. I agree that it is hard to meet people. I actually met my husband at a bar. LOL
