My H works for a guy down the street, construction, and he rides to work with the guy every day. He only gets paid for the time they're actually working, not the driving time. For the past few weeks he's been putting in a lot of hours, but he has hardly any money to show for it. He gets cash, so I can't check any paystub to see how many hours he worked. What I suspect, and I don't know why but it's just a gut feeling that hit me one night a couple weeks ago while I was waiting for him to get home, is that some of the time they're supposed to be working or maybe after work, they're hitting bars or strip clubs or something. There are a lot of them in the area they're working in. I overheard him on the phone recently telling his friend that when they start a job this summer, it's nearby a Hooters, all excited like a little kid.

I'm not a prude, but I do have a problem with strip clubs. I also have a problem with someone supposedly being at work, but not bringing home much money. In the past two months he has contributed almost nothing to our household. He blames it on having to run with the guy to get supplies and stuff during the day, and he doesn't get paid for that, only when he's actually working on the job. I have tried to talk with him about the money thing and he gets defensive. I haven't mentioned what I suspect about the strip clubs because I don't want to sound like a crazy person without some proof.

Do you think I'm overreacting and imagining things? He has said before that he's not into strip clubs, but he used to spend a lot of time on internet porn and internet stripper sites before I put a filter on the computer (have kids in the house).

Anyone have any ideas for things to watch for so that I can find out the truth or if I am just imagining things?

Personally, I always say - trust your gut feeling. However, I don't have any suggestions on how you can verify what you feel. Maybe someone else will have some ideas.
