Tall Tales

My fiance - who I am living with - has a habit of telling very exaggerated stories. I used to thin kit was nothing, just creative story telling, but now i am begginign to wonder if there are other issues at the root of this. There are times when he will tell me stories about his past, before we met, that seem so far fetched I just know that he is making it up but its about stuff that doesnt matter anyway. Its not that he is lying to me about his past so much as trying to make it more exciting aI think. I don treally know what to do about it becaus ei am starting to get sick of listening to his stories. I have attempted to make him acknowledge that he is telling tall tales and exaggerating but he always gets very defensive. I dont know what all of this means. PLeas ehelp!

ah, a subject that I know about....because of life experiences and addressing
my own personal issues.
It all has to do with self-esteem. He lacks it and this is his way of trying
to impress people into thinking he is a better person than he really thinks
he is deep inside. That is why he gets so defensive when she is able to see
through the stories. The fiancé needs counseling in order to address those
deep issues.
