was I right to end 'free' relationship?

For the past six months I have been seeing this guy on a free relationship basis . From the beginning he said he is not ready for a proper relationship. I thought I would be OK with it, but when he dissapeared for a week and then suddently called or not knowing what he was doing bothered me. We went out on Monday and the conversation came up and I told him I wanted to end it because it made me unhappy as I had feelings for him. He said he was always honest with me, which is fair. I am now unhappy that I may have done the wrong thing? Maybe I should have carried on as men do often change their minds at their own time?

...From the beginning he said he is not ready for a proper relationship.

you did the right thing. there are men out there that are ready for a proper relationship. please don't wait for him as he may never come around. please don't settle for less than you deserve - a proper relationship.

I agree that you did the right thing. You weren't happy and it doesn't appear he was going to change his mind on the relationship. It is normal to wonder if you made the right decision after a break up. Give yourself some time to grieve for the relationship.

You did the right thing. Honesty has little to do with it, just because he said from the beginning did not mean you have to deal with this type of relationship forever. If your looking for more substantial commitment you are entitled to it. There are lots of guys who feel the same as you do. Don't waste your time thinking guys like him will change their mind anytime soon. Guys like him are interested in variety and as soon as something feels more interesting they are wanting to move toward it.
