I'm a happily married 36 year old elementary music teacher with 2 small children (2 years/3weeks old respectively). My husband is an IT professional who has recently decided that he would like to begin work on his PhD. I still haven't finished my Masters (have to write the paper) and I can't imagine how we are going to juggle 2 full-time jobs (plus his part-time job as a professor and my extra curricular music groups), 2 kids, and

Welcome to the board afinnteach,

No you are not being selfish. I think you should sit down and write a letter with everything you want to say to him. Then take a couple of days and keep rereading the letter to make sure you are happy with it. Then get someone to watch your children so you can talk to him about this with it being just the two of you. Maybe you will be able to reach some sort of compromise. Like you can finish your Masters first an then we get goes for his PhD you can get a housecleaner a couple days or week.

Hmm...it does sound to me like you are being a little selfish, actually.

I would sit down with your DH and come up with some guidelines and a longterm game plan.

I had to do that with my DH, who is currently overloaded on his activities.
