There are many ways men view relationships. Many men do not feel that it is up to them to take care of all the woman's bills and needs, (in fact, most do not). You're living with him, you're not even married and yet you expect him to even draw money out of his pension to meet all your needs.
The best relationships are between two adults who are mutual, equal partners and share everything together, including costs. When a couple marries, there is then discussion about who does what, who gives what, how responsibilities are shared.
This man is not your father, perhaps you should look again at your expectations here. It's understandable that he would want you to work and contribute, both for his sake and for yours. I suggest you re-evaluate what a loving relationship is all about.
Do y'all remember, a couple of months ago, a post by a man who had had two successive relationships with women who expected him to foot all the bills? He was bewildered by their insistence that he pay the rent, etc, and wondered if this was the "new dating." At the time I was doubtful that there could be women with such inappropriate expectations, but it looks like I was wrong.
Lonely-kc, I am absolutely speechless, and think I will leave the advice to those who are wiser than I.
