DH and I are going away this weekend...with no kids. We've never done this before and its been too many years...so give me some ideas ladies;)
Do we just talk about the first thing that pops up or what?

Oh nice ;-)
You should have an amazing time.
I say try to relive your honeymoon or a great vacation you had before kids.
Welcome to the board luvmymeatman, and congratulations on your upcoming weekend!
I know that hubby and I had a similar retreat in January. It was absolutely wonderful! I did prepare in advance for that trip. We took a suitcase of fun adult things -- sexy clothes, toys, videos, flavored lubes, bubbles, candles, etc. While I did let him leave the room to have a solid meal a couple of times, most of our time was spent in the room, enjoying ourselves. We put the "do not disturb" sign on the door as soon as we got there and took it off just before checking out. Luckily we booked a suite and had a small kitchen, so we were also able to have some refreshments on hand.
Try to leave the kids at home in every way. Clear your mind and relax so that the two of you can concentrate on each other. Try to get any talking that pertains to your home, family and routine out of the way prior to arriving at your destination. Hopefully once you get there, the first thing that pops up won't require much conversation ;-)
When hubby and I travel alone (rare), we love to do things we don't normally do. Going to night clubs, strip clubs or adult novelty stores is usually high on our list for fun. If you're not up for being that risque, you can also find some fun playthings in regular stores. Our local CVS pharmacy now sells flavored lubes and vibrating penis rings. Also, look for things like make up brushes and something to use as a blindfold. If you're a little more daring, get a card for your digital camera to use for taking sexy pictures. You can keep them stored on that specially marked card, and out of the camera for everyday use.
Have a great time, and be sure to give us a report when you return!

Sounds wonderful. I hope you have a great time. My dh and I haven't been away from the kids overnight yet. But I am now planning an overnight getaway at a local B&B for our anniversary in March. One of their better rooms has an oversized jacuzzi, king size bed and fireplace. I already have a couple of fun things to bring in a special bag (flavored massage oil, body cream, blindfold). THe possibilities are endless!
It's a good idea to set some ground rules: no worrying about the kids, no talking about work/finances/house, etc. Concentrate on the two of you. I know that's easier said than done. My dh and I just went out to dinner a few days ago, and struggled to let go of the talk about house projects, school, finances, etc. If you plan to stay in your room the whole time, then you can just spend it doing dirty talk.
