One of the recent discussions on this board made me curious...

You've met a great guy, made love a few times, everything is going great both sexually and relationship-wise. You had a few brief discussions about sex along the way and he knows that you're pretty game to try anything within reason in the bedroom. Maybe he knows that you've used sextoy/s or that you would be game enough to try them.

You're in bed one night, he reaches over to the nightstand and retrieves something from the drawer - it's a vibrator. It's not yours, it's definitely his.

What thoughts run through your mind?

Where's the grossed out icon!!! I would NEVER put anything into my vagina that had been in someone else's. Unless the vibe was brand new or was one of my own, not gonna happen! LOL. I don't care if you do slip a condom over it, I couldn't get past the mental image ;o)

<> Try

EWWWWWW!!! GrrrOSS!

I have no objection to toys, and I'd have no objection to DH having some vibrating thingy or other and us both getting some pleasure out of it. But that's **DH**! I would never take a chance on some toy that's been inside some other woman(en). If he's whippin' it out for me, he's whipped it out for others.

I wouldn't let him use it on me. Guess I don't share my toys very well, eh?

lol. I'm not a woman, but the first thing that ran through my mind was that he was using it on himself, and wanted the hypothetical woman to participate. I didn't even think about him using it on other women until after I read the other posts. I wonder what that says about me?

>>Why is it OK to get intimate with a penis that has been inside other women, but not a vibrator?<<

Some vibrators have a gelly outside, which can potentially hold bacteria.

>>Even the doctor's speculum has been inside other women.<<

All the Dr's I have seen use disposable, one time use speculums. Besides, can you sterilize a vibrator at home like you can at the Dr's office? They use those high heat steam thingies.

Let's put it this way, living with Dh, and two sons (19 & 21) they do keep their bodies very clean, but if they EVER picked up a glass or dish and washed it, I would probably drop dead, so..........washing a sex toy..........I don't think that would even cross their mind.

Yep. Everyone's responses were pretty much what I thought that they would be. :-)

>>Assuming that the vibrator is clean - what's the difference?<<

I think that it's psychological more than a matter of hygiene. You simply don't want to use such an intimate object like a vibrator that has been used on another woman/women. When you think about it, we all know that a tongue or fingers can be pretty unhygenic even when clean.
