breaking the hymen

Well...
I want to have sex with my boyfriend really badly, but everytime he tries to penetrate me in any way, and when I do it myself, we can only go in about an inch or so. No further because it just hurts and I can't hurt myself and he feels too bad. I'm pretty sure that whatever we're reaching is my hymen... please correct me if I'm wrong.
Anywho, I want to break it if thats what it is, but I just can't. I was just wondering what the best way to go about it was and if I go see a gyno, will whatever they do break it?
Thanks.

Your hymen is not inside of the vagina, it's on the outside.
You asked this same question, or discussed your penetration problems here or on another board a few weeks ago. You were given the same advice.....lots of foreplay and lubrication should help.
Whatever it is, it's NOT your hymen....it's unlikely you had one, and if you DID, it's at the opening of the vagina, not an inch inside. It's just a piece of skin, and it blocks entry to the vagina....and in a worst case scenario, a doctor would have to cut it, NOT break it. But, if he's getting one inch in....then it's your vaginal muscles that are too tight and won't allow him to enter. Just WANTING to have intercourse doesn't help, you still have to be properly aroused with lots of foreplay and that means clitoral stimulation which relaxes your vaginal muscles and produces some lubrication. Hopefully you know more about the clitoris and where it is....than you do about the hymen! Check out the site that Tish gave you.....and maybe you'll understand more about it, and let your b/f read it so that he knows what he's supposed to be doing to HELP you. Just the fact that you've had pain every time will cause you to be nervous and tight because you now expect it to be painful. Lots of foreplay, and added lubrication should alleviate the pain.
If all else fails, see your gyno.
