I don't think most guys can tell. IF one is very observant and takes the time to learn what their partner's orgasm looks like, he might be able to tell, but because orgasms can vary so much each time, most could still be fooled.

The sad thing is that a faker is only hurting herself by doing so. And of course, encouraging her guy to continue doing what doesn't work.

I would say it depends on the couple involved and how well he knows the woman he's with.

I don't think that most guys can tell either.

I faked when I was young for two reasons: I had a fear of being labeled frigid or in the least, them thinking I was broken; ;-) I loved how I felt whenever they orgasmed and felt that they deserved to feel the same especially after working so hard and doing everything right.

I was my own worst enemy really. It's just like Erectile Dysfunction is for a man--once he goes soft, he continues to worry if he'll go soft again. It becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy. It had nothing to do with skill, and everything to do with my mind worrying about whether or not I will have an orgasm.

Anyhow, according to Oprah's show, something like 70% of women fake orgasms. I suspect it has less to do with skill, and more to do with egos. ;-)

You do know that most of us can voluntarily contract our vaginal muscles, though, don't you, Mac? I can contract mine however I choose after do many years of doing kegels.

So, if that's what most men depend on to determine an orgasm in women, then that can also be faked.

I don't know of a single woman who hasn't faked, at least once in her sexual life, for some reason and not one of those men were aware of it, so I don't think the majority of men can tell. Not a good thing, for sure, but it happens.

>of us can voluntarily contract our vaginal muscles... I can contract mine however I choose...

I assume the opening and maybe an inch or two inside can be voluntarily controlled. Just how far back can muscles be controlled? Is it possible to voluntarily cause the cervix to dip down, or contract muscles in the back?

I can only speak for myself but I can feel the entire length of my vagina when I contract consciously and my DH has told me he can, as well. Not sure about voluntarily dipping the cervix though.

Kat,

In general, and mostly during oral, I can tell. When I give my wife that extra little tongue flick, and the response is but a mere fraction of a second later, I know I have the real McCoy.

As was stated (I think it was stated!), the real point is why. Oh, there are all the various reasons as far as stoking the ego, nerves and what have you. I just thought it was an interesting question and fun to see how the guys in general say no way can she fake me out and the women say oh yes I can :o)

And if the question was 'Can a girl tell he's faking it?', I think we would have 100% agreement from both sexes :o)

Yes, I think it would be easier to tell during oral stimulation when you are getting a closeup view of the physical changes taking place. And knowing your partner well enough definitely helps.

And yes, I agree...definitely more difficult for a man to pull a fast one on a woman. I'm sure it's happened though....especially when a condom is being used.
