Is it important for one to have a particular wrist size when selecting a watch band or a bracelet?
Or, is it enough to know that one can have the item to be worn adjusted to get a good "fit"?

As someone who has a very slim wrist, (the only part of me that's slim anymore, lol) yes, it's important for watches. It also depends on the style of watch band. If it's leather, with a buckle, no problem. If it's the bracelet type, usually links can be removed. If it's the stretch type, and she has a thin wrist, it could be too loose. If she has an Average wrist, then most stretch bands would fit her.

Bracelets are another story. It depends on the type, some are meant to hang loose over the hand. Some are tighter, and hinged to go over the hand. I'm sure any jewelry clerk could help you figure it out.

You could be sneaky and just grab her arm just above her wrist, and measure it with your fingers.

Have fun shopping!

It depends on the owner of the wrist and the bracelet or watch in question. Everyone is different in their expectations.
