circumsized vs uncircumsized

my girl friend and i were discussing penis' yesterday and neither of us have had an experience with an uncircumsized penis. i remember reading (probably on here) that you have to pull back the skin on an uncir. penis to expose the head. but she said thought it would pull back itself...so if anyone can clear this up that'd be great

I've read this more than once, and very recently, on these ivillage boards. Any idea why the interest has suddenly kicked up around here lately? Just curious. ;)

you dont have to pull it back?
Well, I can help you out on this. I am a 32 year old male. I haven't been circumsized, so, I'm pretty familiar with the anatomy you are curious about. No guessing here.
There aren't any muscles to speak of in the male that would draw the skin back. So, no, it does not pull back on it's own at all.
The appearance of the skin pulling back is mainly due to the fact that as a man's penis grows in girth during erection it also grows in length. The skin on the penis is only so elastic, and at the point of full erection, it generally out grows the skin's length.
And that is in general a minority of uncircumsized men. Myself as with most of the others I have known, the skin extends reasonably beyond the tip of the penis. So even at full erection the glans is completely covered.
In my case, you have to pull the skin back. There is some resistance, but not much. When I was younger there was much more resistance, and it would barely pull back beyond the glans until I more or less stretched it out, and everything seems to work normally now. Now when I pull the skin back totally, it has the apprearance of a circumcised penis, but with a little more play in the skin. Oddly enough the line where the outside of the foreskin and the inside of the foreskin join resembles a circumcision scar to the untrained eye.
As far as sensation. Yes it's pretty sensitive tissue inside there. Right after I pull the skin back at first, it's usally very tender to the touch. After a while it's a bit more accustomed to touch, and the sensation I get from the glans and the whole of the inside of the foreskin, which at full retraction is about a third of the length of my penis, is just incredible. I would hate to think of what i would be missing if I had been circumcised.
Hope this answers most of your questions.

Like everything else on the human body, everyone's penis and foreskin are different. You must have a lot of loose skin if the head is still covered when it's erect! But, it's not a good thing or a bad thing.....it's the way you are. Viva la difference!
No, the frenulum is on the underside of the glans. It is a tendon-like structure that runs lenth-wise along the underside of the penis. I know this because I had a very tight one that had to be gradually stretched as I got older. Many circumcised penises, do not have this structure as it is often removed with the rest of the foreskin.
The "line" I was discussing runs around the my penile shaft, widthwise along the whole perimeter, when the foreskin is retracted taught. And is about a third of the way back from the glans. It's the transition between the interior and exterior regions of the foreskin.
There is often a scar on a circumcised penis, anytime you cut anything there is bound to be. It does vary by degrees as to how defined the scar is, and how well it was maintained. And, yes in some men, it is almost unnoticeable. But, if you look at them there will be a defined demarkation between smooth light colored skin that was the interior of the foreskin, and darker colored rough textured skin that was the exterior.
