Condom Broke, What To Do???

I'm on the pill regularly and am like clockwork with my cycle. I had sex a sort while ago and when he removed himself we found out the condom had broken, and are assuming he came inside of me since there was leakage on the bed. Are the birth control pills secure enough for me not to worry or should I take other precautions such as the morning after pill. I talked to a friend and she said I should be fine since I'm on the pill, but I'd like another opinion. This has never happened to me before and am not sure how worried I should be. Thanks!

I'm not a doctor but I would think if you take your pill on time every day and haven't skipped any then you most likely have nothing to worry about.

As Tish said, as long as you've taken the pills properly, meaning every day, at approximately the same time, you have nothing to worry about. Taken correctly, the pill prevents ovulation, and if you don't ovulate, you can't get pregnant. If birth control pills fail, it's because of skipping them, or not taking them at the same time every day.

By the way, the regularity of your cycle has nothing to do with it.....since the pills also regulate your cycle.

I agree with the other posters - you are probably fine if you have been taking the pill regularly....

I would like to point out, however, that if you or your partner are not monogomous (i have no clue how that is spelled!) you should get tested for any STDs....

As a matter of fact, I would reccommend getting tested if you haven't recently....Many STDs are carried by people who NEVER know they are infected and unknowingly pass it on to their partners...

Both of you should get tested - just in case... If you are really worried about pregnancy (if you have been irregular in taking the pill) you should get a pregnancy test when you see your doctor.

While there you can talk to your doctor about your concerns with breaking condoms and he/she can help you feel more comfortable...

I don't mena to scare you with all the STD warnings... I went to see my doctor and got TONS of scary statictics about STDs and think EVRYONE shoudl get tested regularly...

Hope this helps!

I'm on the pill and have been for quite a while. I live with my fiance so sex happens multiple times a day. We both get tested regularly and are fine for STDs. When we have sex... we use no contraceptives with the exception of the pill that I take. Hunny, you're fine. My fiance cums inside me daily and we've obviously had no complications. No worries. If you guys are both tested for diseses and are ok... I'd try without a condom... feels so much better! :)

as mentioned before I would think you should be fine as well. Just as a piece of information on the morning-after-pill. It is necessary that you take that pill not later than 24-36 hours after intercourse, so if you ever choose to go that path keept that in mind.

it's 24-72 hours... not 36
