how safe is condom...? seriously?
A website say over a course of a year, 15 out 100 girl would get pregnant even using a condom correctly.
some say its 99% effective.. so if i have sex 100 times... one time would get the girl pregnant?
is this true? that is a large amount of people.. a big chance?
i dont believe its true.
what about you guys?

i have been having sex with my girlfriend for 3 months. i always use condom, but sometime (within 1-5 days of her period) i dont use it at the beginning moment. i use condom after a minute or two when i get some feeling. is this really dangerous? last month, my girlfriend have her period at the 14th. it is the 15th now, and we are very worry. So worry that we have a big argument about it. she is only 17 and if she get pregnant, does she need parent permission to get an abortion?...

thankyou =(

If you are going to use condoms, you must put it on long before you get near her vagina, every single time. Here is a website that has failure rates of birth control methods: http://www.contracept.org/risks.php

You have access to a computer, and you should look up the various methods of birth control, and study them.

Also even though your statistics are wrong because condoms as others have said are not 99% effective (maybe closer to that if you are also using spermicidal foam which I didn't hear you mention).

The laws about age and sex and age and abortions vary by state, so she may or may not need to get parental permission to have an abortion.

There is no form of birth control (other than abstinence) that is 100% effective against pregnancy; however, using birth control properly goes a long way to making it very effective. As the others explained, there can still be sperm in the pre-ejaculate, so it's really not safe to play without a condom. Semen has even been known to make it's way to fertilize an egg just by being on the outside of the vagina.

Here are a couple of articles you might want to check out about condoms:

As far as her cycle, we tried for 2 years to get pregnant with my second son. We concentrated on the days that I was "supposed" to ovulate, and my period had always been as regular as clockwork. We finally got pregnant when having sex on the last day of my period.

A condom is only as good as the people using them.

The reason that condoms fail so much is because don't use them properly.

Well if you dont trust that the condom will be effective enough, then use in conjunction with another method. As previous posters stated, sperm could be present in pre-ejaculation, so if she were to get pregnant, it would definitely be 'operator's error'.
