Could your relationship last without intercourse?

  • Really don't think it could.
  • It'd be tough, who really knows.
  • Yes, difficult for sure, but yes.
  • Other.

I probably should have voted the option in the middle, but to be honest, I WANT to stay with her even if it came to that. Because of this, even though I don't know what would happen in such circumstance, I'm still voting "yes" anyway.

Quite a lot to learn from reading posts on the net from those who no longer enjoy that option, but are still together anyway. Always makes me realize how blessed I am and how fast and tragically sharp the changes could occur at any single moment.

I think a lot would depend on why the IC stopped. If it was because she had some illness or disability that prevented IC, but we still loved each other, it would be easier to live with it. It would also be more bearable if she was willing to still do sexual things short of intercourse. If, on the other hand, she just totally lost her desire for sex, did nothing to at least try to correct the situation, and refused to pleasure me in other ways, that would be much harder to endure.

Oops. I meant to say "pleasure each other", not just me.

I voted *Yes* but it would depend on the circumstances.

I answered yes because this is what happened to me. It was part of lots else that was going on, and in the midst of our disagreements sex was gradually squeezed out of the relationship. I am not saying that sex would have kept our relationship alive, but it might have prevented some of the nasty things from happening that did. Besides, we both enjoyed it.

I voted "Heck No". With the daily stress life offers and the difference between gender brain and emotions, IC is about the only activity that pulls two people together. Without IC, one is better off with the companionship of a dog.

I voted yes, but difficult only because at age of almost 76, I am lucky that I still HAVE a sex life. I will never stop loving my wife even if I dry up at some point.

I said yes. We would both miss it but we can still give pleasure other ways.
