HELP!!!!

ok first off i knew the consiquences when i lost my virginity not to long ago... that said... I am on the Depro shot and my SO and also used condoms... (but one fell off somehow once) and My Gyno. told me that on depro a woman shows pregnancy signs earlier than normal

which means that i cant get tested until next week but i think im pregnant now!

My sister got pregnant on the shot and so did my cousin... is it possilbe that i could have too? FYI my symptoms include: Fatigue, vomiting(as of today), irritablility, and breast tenderness.

There are 2 main reasons why im scared:

1. My mother is livid at my sis (who is a single mother and pregnant agian with another unfatherd child). MY mom will FLIP OUT more than likely stop paying for my college (im a Freshman). She will make me out to be just like my sister (who was a sex-aholic, alcoholic, and drug addict at the age of 14 and quit school in grade 9) she is now 25 and is only a sex-aholic ...I just lost my virginity, I waited until i was 18.. and Im in college...

2. My SO is a genius... (graduated 21 in a class of 450), H is also in college and has a great chance at making a good career (And good money) Im worried what actions he will take.. like quit college... we have talked before and i told him i would take a year off (since he is more than likely to succeed) to get the baby started and i can work... but i have a feeling he will take it differently because we arent in the same colleges, we arent even in the same cities!

HELP....ANY ADVICE WILL DO.... should i tell him now or wait until i get the tests... im not sure he'd beleive me now since its only been 6 days since our last and first intercourse... (on depro sighns show up as early as 5 days) but he might not beleive that... anyways im so confused... im going for a pregnancy test next thursday....

I really don't know about the odds of getting pregnant on Depo although I'm sure there are statistics posted on Plannedparenthood.org or some responsible site like it. I know it's possible although not probable. Nothing prevents 100% of women from ovulating 100% of the time.

But I will say that until you get a positive test back, there is no sense in panicking. Of course, you're worried and will worry until you know. But there is nothing you can do to change things right now until you know and you're putting yourself through a *lot* of stress that may be unnecessary. And there's no sense in worrying about who is going to quit work and who is going to move and how your mom will take it until you know that you even are. Then you'll need to sit down with the father and rationally figure out what your options are and what you will do. I know it's easy to say 'Don't worry' and it's hard not to, but save your energy for when you know and need to make plans. Until you get a positive, I wouldn't say anything. Don't cry Wolf.

I would also advise that if you aren't, you would consider a second form of BC. Condoms are good, one slippage doesn't mean anything. But if you're not sure of them, use something like spermicidal foam, VCF, gel or something like that, to increase your protection. Best of luck, and let us know how things go.

All of your "symptoms" are signs of nervousness, fear, tension, etc.

I know nothing about the shot, but if my sister and my cousin got pregnant while on it, I'd sure look into something more reliable.

Try to relax, the chances of you getting pregnant the FIRST time you have sex are not very high. It happens, but not as often as you'd think, and usually it's without protection of any kind.

I don't know that there is any BC more effective than something like Depo, but you also have to stop and think. With your sister having as many problems as she apparently has and also having some addictions, it's very possible that she didn't go in for the shots on time when she got pregnant.

People say "I got pregnant while I was on the Pill/Depo" but if they were forgetting pills, not starting a new pack when planned, or letting too much time lapse between shots, then they could very well get pregnant. Technically they were on BC, but if it's not used *exactly* as prescribed (user error) then the chances of getting pregnant are a lot higher than someone who is using it perfectly.

In these cases, the method didn't fail.

I know from experience, you can have every single pregnancy symptom it the book and not be pregnant. Especially since you have seen the result of having children young, you may very well be just nervous that your going down the same road. I did this once when I was in college. I have been using condoms for 14 years, and have never gotten pregnant when I didn't want to. ( I have two planned sons )

Be calm, I bet you are not pregnant at all!

Keep us posted.
