Different kind of Penis question

My Penis head (glans) is very insensitive. I know in normal case the glans has most nerve endings and is supposed to be sensitive part. I can even rub against relatively rough
surface and don't feel much. Mind you sex is great and I can last longer without any problems at all. Has anyone heard or have come across anyone like this? (I am circumcised by the way). Thanks.

No, I've never heard of it personally, but we're all unique so it makes sense that some men might be be less sensitive THERE, as well.

Much the same way as women will vary in clitoral or nipple sensitivity.

And such is the answer to your question. The head of a circumcised penis is always exposed and constantly in contact with your clothing, etc. It becomes far less sensitive over a period of years and, in fact, the skin toughens and changes significantly in comparison to its uncircumcised/protected state.

I have to disagree Jackson, that's not a given. One's penile sensitivity level, even in circumsized men, will still vary from man to man.

My DH can tolerate soft underwear rubbing against his penis, but he certainly can't rub the exposed head against anything much rougher than THAT, as the OP was alluding to.

True. However find an uncircumcised penis and retract the foreskin; you will see that the glans (the "head") looks entirely different with the skin having a much more thin and translucent look to it. Now, ask the guy who is attached to that penis about sensitivity.

And while I'm looking at that uncircumsized man's glans, I will also discover that there are STILL varying degrees of sensitivity, for each one, even though the head is not exposed all the time.

There are an awful lot of circumsized premature ejaculators out there who would argue with you as well! LOL! (And no, obviously, sensitivity isn't the only issue with PE sufferers either.)

Some of us have more sensitive genitals than others and yes, while being circumsized can affect the color and sensitivity to a degree, it's not a given that all men lose significant sensation. My DH will testify to that.

Scorpion,

I too am circumcized and sex for me is great. The glans of the penis has different nerve endings in it than say your finger. Your finger has the ability to detect all sorts of different sensations...that's the function of your fingers. However, the penis has only one function: to make babies. Most of the stimulation in the early part of sex and even through intercourse happens on the shaft. Notice when you masturbate that your hands naturally focus on the shaft until a certain point and then it switches to the head of the penis.Normally you are not conscious of the change...but next time you masturbate just pay attention to it. That friction "awakens" the nerve endings in the the glans and then it becomes extremely sensitive..but only to a certain kind of touch. You still couldn't read brail with it (LOL), but when moist 98.6 degree tissue touches the glans sensation will be fealt all through your body. The reason that an uncircumcized male may have more sensation initially is because their glans is already sheathed in warm, moist tissue that is 98.6 degrees. However, once awakened there is no difference between a circumcized and uncircumcized penis.

Women really have the same reaction. Most women don't want direct stimulation to their clitoris until a certain point; Many women want indirect touch (labia, around the hood etc.) until they are ready. THe timing of that switch from periferal to direct contact for most women is the key to orgasm. It is for men too, but it's less noticable because the shaft of an erect penis is much larger than the shaft of an erect clitoris (for obvious reasons) and so there are a bunch more nerve endings that are accessable (women actually have more nerves per square inch of their clitoris, but there are less square inches and they are tougher to get to).

Anyway, maybe that was a TMI post, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it. This is all a generalization, so of course there are differences as we are all individuals...but for the most part we can all get the job done.

Peace.
Scott.

So true about the shaft and the actual glans of the clitoris. It's ever so minute a change in stimulation when approaching orgasm. However, for me, I can never withstand any direct contact manually to my clitoris(even close to orgasm)--it's just too painful. My hood is required at all times. I guess if I was circumcized as a baby, I would have adapted somehow. What choice would I have had? ;-)

Hi rain dancer and all the others who responded to my question. I think my glans are "way more insensitive" than normal and I was just wondering anyone else have heard anything like that. I mean I can rub agaist a brick and hardly have much feeling on the head. I think it's a unique kind of problem.

I agree scorpion...that's WAY more insensitive than the norm, even for an uncircumsized man.
