I have a back that acts up occasionally, nothing that needs treatment but that can hurt quite a bit. I have noticed that when having sex, I don't feel the pain anymore. After the sex session, my back can hurt like h***...but I haven't complained yet. ;0).

Has anyone else noticed that the other non-sex related aches and pains seem to temporarily vanish while making love, only to return again after the session?

Sure mancreature. Those wonderful natural chemicals (our natural "heroin," serotonin and endorphins, as well as vasopressin for men and oxytocin for women, etc.) get released during sex which stimulate the pleasure centers in the brain and then temporarily, make you forget your aching back as you concentrate on your pleasure.

I noticed this right after I first became sexually active, before aches and pains were ever an issue. Remember having sex in a VERY uncomfortable position, in a car or elsewhere, and forgetting your discomfort because of the pleasure?

I really think you should see a dr. about your back though, especially if you're having to use some sort of pain medication daily. I have a bad back, as well, and minor or not, it DOES affect the quality of your life!

One time I had a horrible bladder infection that included intense pain. But during sex I didn't feel it at all, then afterwards it was back. Sex releases endorphins which have an analgesic effect.
