Before you have anal sex is it okay to use a douche in place of an enema in case you don't have an enema.

Hi
I guess you could. Not really sure if thats the best thing though. I'llbet that some else here can tell you. If you think you need to do that, just use some warm water.

I know you can buy "prepared" douches, but hopefully you don't use them.....it's totally unneccesary for cleanliness, and can actually make you prone to infections because you're washing away the "natural bacteria"...that prevents infections.
I guess you can buy prepared enemas, too...but they're usually medicated in some way, as are douches. Just get a re-usable enema or douche bag, and use warm water. That's all that's needed.
I've never used anything before anal sex but they do sell anal douches for that purpose at adult stores and you can find them at sex toy sites on the net.
Yeah I still say water too. Some douches might have some chemicals that may not be good "back there". You can use a syringe that is lubed up and warm water. If your doing this because you fear a mess, then just try to go #2 earlier and that should help reduce the risk of an accident.
Good luck

Douche is for the vaginal area, not the anal area. I would not recommend using it for your backside. Don't obsess about cleanliness. When DH and I do/did engage in anal play, I just took a shower and made sure I was super clean. I'm obsessed with hygeine, so I always am.
