I find your post to be nonsensical. I think you should reread it to see if there really is a question there that you need help with. As far as if it makes sense....
If you are only having a relationship for sex, then it doesn't make sense to think that if you enjoyed kissing him he would still be around.
If you are only seeing him every 7 months, then it doesn't really change much if he isn't around, KWIM?
Each person has their own boundaries. Some people love to have casual sex, or friends with benefits. It's all about personal choices. Some people are good kissers, others aren't. Some people need kissing for satisfying sex, others don't.
Seems to me that if you have decided this isn't the sort of relationship you want to be involved in then it's better off to have it behind you. Now you can look forward to a more fulfilling relationship, and you've learned a lesson about yourself along the way.
