What you're describing sounds like Endometriosis, which can occur naturally, OR can be the result of frequent abdominal surguries.

Again, talk to your doctor about treatment for this. You don't have to just bear the pain, it CAN be helped, by the right doctor.

Check out this web site: http://www.endometriosisassn.org/endo.html

It doesn't sound like endo to me if it's a result of the surgery from ileostomy. Why did you have to have the ileostomy in the first place? Was it because of bad enometriosis? Was it because of the adhesions causing damage and blockages to your intestines? Has any of the Docotrs even considered endo?

If you had to have the ileostomy because of bad adhesions and scarring from endo that would explain your situation a lot better. There may be something that the Doctors can do about it too. I don't know enough about it to give any really good advice and I certainly don't know enough about your situation but I wouldn't give up if I were you.

I know that the doctors can often use laparscopic surgery to remove adhesions caused by endo and that can give considerable, if not complete, relief in many cases. Usually it's requires 4 or 5 small incisions in the abdomen around your belly button and above your pubis but is only a one day stay in hospital depending upon the severity of the adhesions. Even if the adhesions are not from endo this surgery may be an option.
