Does anyone know if a woman can get an infection by oral sex? I don't have medical insurance to see a doctor but there are some symptoms and I am wondering if it is because of the "other night".
Thanks

Short answer....yes, you can. STD's can be spread that way as well as some other infections. For example, if a guy has thrush in his mouth, then he could give you a yeast infection. Could be something or nothing but if you are experiencing symptoms, then go to your health dept. or ask your parents, friends for help to pay for an exam.

Thanks, I 've been with my sig. other for over 5 years. This has never happen but he is a heavy smoker and I know he didn't brush his teeth prior to our "romp" (lol) so I was not sure. It is just some burning though which I know could be something else.

Could just be a yeast infection, UTI, or some minor irritation from the nicotine. I would just keep an eye on it and if it gets worse, see a dr.

Not enough information! Burning could be ANYTHING......and heavy (or light)smoking, in and of itself cannot give you an infection. There is no nicotine in his mouth....it's in his blood stream. He could have given you some other kind of infection.....if he had a cold sore, he could give you herpes. If he had some sort of oral infection, thrush, gingivitis......that could be passed on to you.

Vaginal burning could just be from being too dry. Does it burn when you urinate? It could be an UTI. Whatever it is, if it doesn't go away in a few days, then find a free clinic....or Planned Parenthood, and get checked out. If it's some kind of infection, it will not go away by itself.

Agree. Won't be the nicotine.

How about common old stubble rash?

I have to disagree. Just as traces of tar and nicotine can end up on the fingertips over time, they can also be present on the tongue and lips. If a person is sensitive to those things, it could be a factor. She said he's a heavy smoker.

She's been with him for over 5 years. She would have probably noticed any sensitivity by now and the levels on skin and what would be transferred are pretty minimal. We're not exactly talking toxic waste dump levels of tar and nicotine here.

My money is still on stubble rash if it's external irritation ;-)

I still have to disagree since she said he didn't go and brush his teeth, etc. this particular time. And unless he has stubble on his tongue or lips, then I don't see how that could cause burning of the inner labia or urethra. Possible, I guess, but not likely.
