This isn't that unusual. It happens to all men on occasion. It doesn't happen the first time, so it's his "recovery" time that's changing....and that can happen too. He could be more tired than usual. If it continues, and it bothers him or you, then he should see a doctor for a complete physical.......and find out if anything is wrong.

It's doubtful......because it only happens the second time around.

Is he on any new medication? That could possibly affect his "recovery" time also.

Welcome to the board autimn.

Frequently, as guys age, their recovery time changes. How is your BFs overall health? Does he exercise and get enough sleep? Being tired or stressed can contribute to this as well.

Since it is a new thing (past 2 weeks), see if there have been any changes during that time. Is his work more hectic? Having family problems? If you can't think of anything that might be contributing to this, and it continues to happen, he can mention it to his doctor. I don't think it sounds like a medical problem because he is able to maintain an erection fairly often (or so it sounds from your description).

Sometimes that can become a negative cycle. It could have just happened once for whatever reason. Then, because it happened once, he may have been worrying about it more which kept it from happening again. I would try not to make too big of a deal out of it.
