Extreme pain after intercourse
| Wed, 06-22-2005 - 4:02pm |
Once when my BF and I were having sex he was thrusting a bit deeper than usual, and though I could tell he was it didn't hurt. After we finished I started having pain on the left side of my pelvis, and over the next five minutes it became excruciating and I was really scared. I had my BF get a heating pad for me, and as soon as I got heat on it the pain started to go away and within 30 minutes it was gone. This has never happened before, and it hasn't happened since. I don't normally ever have any sort of pain with or after intercourse. Should I be concerned, or did I just strain a muscle?

Anything is possible, so you may have strained a muscle or his deep thrusting could have caused a muscle cramp BUT any pain that continues or becomes severe, should be discussed with your gynecologist.
I have endometriosis, so I will often get pain from deep thrusting during, and sometimes, after intercourse. Repeatedly bumping the cervix can also cause painful cramping.
By what the Mrs. & I know from readng and experience, if your gyno has already given you a clean bill of health with no issues in there, then he may have thrusted a bit too far. Some may suffer pain from sensitive cervix areas as a result, for example.
Oftentimes posts have come back from those with similar pain explaining that it indeed was just cramps after all, but if you're not sure and still suffer, then call your doc and play it safe.

Sounds like he hit your left ovary.
If the pain wasn't immediate, it wasn't your cervix.
If the pain's gone now, it should be ok. Just be more careful of the rough stuff next time.
Not necessarily Mutt.
If it's one, straight-on, hard thrust to the cervix, it is usually immediately painful but if it's a series of slower, insistant bumps to the cervix for a period of time...it can cause cramps afterwards.
But he could have also done the same to her ovary, as you suggested.
