Flacid versus Erect

So here's one for the laugh factory, but do let's play. While shopping today, I came to realize I must not be adjusting well to how much his new working schedule has affected our sex life because I actually caught myself looking at men's groins. As I watched one man walk across the restaurant, I was amazed by his pant's protuding bulkiness and it made me question flacid size versus erect size, and I thought you all should be able to answer this one. . .
Now we all know that erections come in different sizes (2 inched to about 12 inches), however, in your experience, does a man's flacid size indicate his erect size? OR
Which, in your experience, promotes a larger erect size: small flacid or large flacid?

There are show'ers and there are growers.
And you would see Tish running for the hills with a chastity belt on.
No clear cut answer. As has been pointed out, there are growers and there are showers. The general belief is that shorter flaccids often tend to grow more (growers), and that showers are often just that - showers. In other words, in general, smaller flaccids and longer flaccids become about the same length upon erection.
However, the above belief is actully only partially true and partially false. In general (it's only 'in general' because there are plenty of exceptions) smaller flaccids do grow more and longer flaccids do grow less, but shorter flaccids don't catch up. I have access to a chart of flaccids and their erect sizes, and once did a study of 3" vs 5" flaccids. I was curious as to whether if it was true, or not, that growers catch up with showers. What I found was that the 3" flaccids became 5.75" erect, and the 5" flaccids became 7.25" erect.
So what started out as a 2" difference in flaccid size (5" minus 3"), became a 2.25" (7.25" minus 5.75") difference upon erection. So the gap was indeed closed, but it did not end up the same. Of course those numbers only represent an overview, and it varied from individual to individual.
So can you go by the bulge in the pants? Well, it increases the chances he has more than average when erect, but it's not a given.
You definately answered that one.
Now about those charts - are they solely word charts or are there pictures? LOL :)
I dated two men (not at same time) who measured in at almost exactly the same size, just over 6 inches. (Yes, I actually measured :) .) One of them was very comfortable being naked when he was not aroused, as he was "well hung"...that is, his penis when flaccid was over 4" long. (At least, when I see a guy with that length soft, I consider that well hung.) Anyway, the other guy nearly disappeared when he got soft! On the rare occasion that I'd see his penis flaccid, it was just the head and a tiny bit of the shaft...maybe 1.5" at most. Definite shrinkage.
If you'd see the two of them side by side, I'm sure you would bet that the "well hung" guy was a lot bigger when excited, and you would have been wrong.
It sounds as though you used a measuring tape or ruler, but I can't be sure how you arrived at your measurement. The most practical way for a woman, if she wants to know his size, is to simply know what the width of her hand measures, and then use that as a gadge when she holds his penis. It might not be quite as accurate as a ruler sitting on him, but it'll give a close idea.
Btw, since 3.5" is the average flaccid penis length, 4" is not well hung.
