Garter Belts

OK, here goes another question (you were all so helpful on the last one!)...
My wife and I are having a running debate, and it's gotten to the point of humor because we can't seem to get a good answer. So, I thought I'd throw it to you for your help. Do women today (not just the ones in catalogs and magazines) wear garter belts? To help you frame an answer, I've put together the following list of questions...
Have you worn a garter belt/stockings?
If yes...
How often?
When was the last time?
Do you wear it in the bedroom only?
Do you wear it out on the town?
Do you wear it to work?
Your age (if you care to share)?
How old were you the first time you wore one?
Any other comments?
Thanks for your help!

The only time I wear a garter belt and stockings is for Dh.
I'm sure some women still wear garter belts, at least occasionally. They still sell them so someone is wearing them! But they're a lot of trouble for daily wear!
Yes, I've worn one....many times.
Not very often.
Only when I'm really sexing it up for the DH.
Last time was about 6 mos. ago.
Yes, sometimes I'll wear one to tease the DH when we go out.
No, couldn't see wearing one to work. Not comfortable or practical.
I'm in my 40's.
First time I wore one was in 5-6th grade with fishnet stockings. I guess I was around 11-12. Back then, there were no panty hose.
I can understand why men are attracted to the look of a garter belt with stockings. BUT come on, unless men are willing to suffer more to be sexy for US, I don't think you should get your hopes up for the DW to wear them ALL the time!
Katmandoo,
Thank you so much for your reply. To clarify, there's no way I would expect her to wear them all the time, as I can imagine they do seem like they'd be trouble. I do find them sexy on her, and to your point, they do sell them in mainstream lingerie and department stores. We were really just wondering who wears them and where, as she doesn't know any of her friends that do.
Thanks, again.

I am willing to dress up for my DW, but other than thongs or g-strings (which I wear) there isn't much in the way of sexy lingerie type things for men.

LOL! My DH wouldn't be caught dead in a bikini, much less a g-string or thong. Not that I think men are particularly sexy in those things anyway. Sorry.
But it's not lingerie that I'm talking about necessarily.
Generally speaking, men know that they only have to show up to be appreciated. Once in a while, it would be nice if they just went to a little more effort to please visually, as women do.
My DH will dress up for me in the bedroom, but it's not as if he wants to wear silk jammy bottoms whenever I want him to either. We accomodate one another, but we also will draw the line in the sand, too. So, between the silk jammy bottoms and the garter belt, we're pretty even.

When I was a teen-ager, there were two choices to hold up your stockings.....a garter belt or a girdle. Garter belts were NOT all that comfortable, and most of my friends and I wore girdles, even though we were thin and certainly didn't NEED a girdle.
Bless whomever invented pantyhose! They first came out in the 60's, and came in one or two sizes.......but they were better than garter belts! All of a sudden, they've become sexy.....to me they're nothing but utilitarian, and still uncomfortable!
