OK, here goes another question (you were all so helpful on the last one!)...

My wife and I are having a running debate, and it's gotten to the point of humor because we can't seem to get a good answer. So, I thought I'd throw it to you for your help. Do women today (not just the ones in catalogs and magazines) wear garter belts? To help you frame an answer, I've put together the following list of questions...

Have you worn a garter belt/stockings?

If yes...

How often?
When was the last time?
Do you wear it in the bedroom only?
Do you wear it out on the town?
Do you wear it to work?
Your age (if you care to share)?
How old were you the first time you wore one?
Any other comments?

Thanks for your help!

My DH would never go into Victoria's Secret alone. He goes with me and gives me input but he won't go alone.

1. I enjoy anything he buys for me but we have very different tastes. Sometimes, he does well and sometimes he doesn't-just like when I buy HIM clothing. I always enjoy his gifts though.

2. I will wear something low cut or more slinky and sexy if we're going out or to a party or something but I don't like to dress too outrageously in public. I'm not terribly exhibitionistic in that way. I DO try and dress in way that my DH likes but he likes nice suits, etc. on me! THAT'S what he thinks is sexy...not the overtly sexual outfits. In fact, the last outfit he bought me was a blue pinstriped fitted jacket and skirt with a slit on the side. He LOVES that outfit. My sons have no issues with seeing me in nightclothes, etc. It's nothing out of the normal. I don't think they look at me as a woman anyway...I'm just MOM.

I bought my first one for when I got married 2 years ago. Since then I've come to like it. Sure I wear them in the bedroom but also uptown. I don't work - am a stay at home mommy. Umm the last time I wore one was probably 2.5 months ago. I'm 30 now. They help on bad days when I have to dress up but don't want to. They help me to feel strong, beautiful, mature and sexy. I don't feel trashy or cheap. They're no different than a thong panty. :)

I almost always do a drag thing for Halloween (and occasionally on other occasions), and have for years, and my costumes have ranged from pretty blase to over the top. In my experience, the difference in comfort between a garter belt and pantyhose is pretty dependent on what you're wearing, and whether you'll be sitting down much. Under long and full skirts, garters are comfortable and make going to the bathroom easier. But under most other clothes, pantyhose or tights

Any reason why you "almost always" do a drag thing for Halloween, Martin?

Sorry, but I thought that it was just beautiful how you kept a sensible and straight-faced tone of language throughout that entire post. An unbiased opinion from a guy :-)

Interestingly, my partner has pretty well made the same comments as you about the differences between pantyhose and stockings.

Well, you know, if the shoe fits...

I'm not a bit surprised.

Let's face it - you would not wear one to work or when going out. But, men love them and you have to include them in your "evening repertoire". My husband loves it when I wear them. Linda

yeah, I worn a gater belt to prom. In Chicago, its a big deal to have a gater, and it MUST match your prom dress completly. But now with my boyfriend I look at them as somthing as totally sexy and a major turn on for me as well as my boo to get the mood started!!! ;)
