Wow, it never even occurred to me to check school closings this morning. The weather here is just fine. All the closings/delays seem to be west of me, though.

Steve,

Me either! I let the dogs out this morning and all looked fine out back. I turned on the news (seems like the first time in weeks) and all these schools in obscure places were having delays. I just happened to look up from my coffee to just in time to see our town listed! I thought I was having a flashback but then the phone rang and it was the automated school cancellation hotline we have here to notify families of cancellations.

ARRRGGGGHHHH

BTW just east of us, no delays.

They are!

Other than a bit of fog, the weather will be sunny and bright here today with a high of 76 ~ no snow delays!

And from the forecast, it sounds like temps are heading up into the mid-40's today. Hopefully that will give most of the snow a chance to melt.

Liv,

You deserve even more than a pat on the back...(how about a lovely massage instead?!?)...for keeping to your exercise schedule!

Some things can't be done for love nor money. But when it comes to losing weight, love and money seem to be very good motivators.

Two recent studies, drawing lessons from social networks and behavioral economics, suggest that one spouse's successful weight loss can rub off on to the other, and, separately, that monetary reward is an effective way to help shed pounds. Taken together, they provide timely information in this season of diet resolutions for the new year.

The study from the University of Connecticut says that couples not only tend to gain weight together, they can also lose it as a pair, even if only one of them is enrolled in a formal program. The spouses of the patients who attended regular meetings to encourage making dietary changes lost about five pounds over the course of a year, according to the results of the large clinical trial that examined weight loss strategies for people with type 2 diabetes.

Love, money may help weight loss

LOL, I noticed you didn't leave a comment for the type of love you got by winning your weight loss goal ;-)

Moon, I think packing up a house definitely qualifies as its' own form of exercise!

The only thing I've been exercising of late is my brain. One more week of the training program I'm in. Cross your fingers I get hired .... of course, that will mean a couple more weeks of intense work, but the gains should be worth it in the end.

LOL — I can personally testify that BJ's can be a highly motivating factor when it comes to weight loss.
