I can attest to the fat free being worse thing. One time a friend brought over a can of fat free whip cream. It was sitting right next to the can of heavy whipping cream. The fat free kind had more calories than the regular.

I think you just need to read the labels and pick what works all around for you. Some people need the fat free for cholesterol, some people need the carb free or sugar free for other reasons.

DH hates fat free (which I'm sure is mostly in his mind), so I'm with you on just trying to not overuse the regular stuff.

I will choose sugar free before fat free. Eliminating sugar from your daily intake can do wonders for a person...and not just in calorie reduction.

DH will eat all manner of fat free foods....most of which taste like they contain wax to me. LOL!

Greetings, Mrs. P and everyone!

I am happy to report that I have been able to keep to my goal of averaging an hour of daily exercise five days a week.

My ticker started Wednesday, when I did

Good morning, Miss Em! Bet it feels good to get back into your gym routine -- I know that can be a big stress reliever.

Personally, I've been pretty bad about finding time to add exercise to my routine the past few days. Outside of normal activity, the only thing I think I can add is a brief bit of basketball play with my DS. Today I'm off to the beach, so I'm planning to, at the very least, go for a long walk there.

Enjoy the beach, Misty. I'm so envious. It's 40° here this morning.

Brrrrrrrr. We're at 64, and heading to about 80, so it won't be too hot there, but lovely just the same.

You know, October is the month my DH moved to Florida (we followed in November), and I drove down with him to help him get settled. Luckily, we dressed in layers ~ nearly every state we traveled south, we ended up shedding a layer.

I know the elliptical is all the rage, but I still can't get the hang of it. I'm not exactly a klutz otherwise, but that particular machine sure makes me feel like one. (But no, I've never fallen off!)

The gym I've been visiting has 16 of the damn things, and in the evening there's a waiting list for them!

BTW, I read an article a few months ago in Prevention magazine that said the elliptical is overrated and the best workout is on an inclined treadmill. Ha, vindication!

Have you caught up on the Pouters Club thread yet?
